Starting July 1: Lola’s Clothes for Kids

High school boys and girls that need new or like new clothes, shoes, and bookbags. Starts July 1 and runs through August 1. Please drop off your donations at “garage” at 2212 E. Alex Bell Rd., Dayton 45459.


Saturday, July 13 from 6-9pm
Our Annual Summer Beach Party at the Greene Town Center in Beavercreek.
This is a night for great family fun! Bring your chairs, blankets, friends, dogs and enjoy music by the band 24 /seven. Beach balls will be flying everywhere! There will be food trucks and beer for purchase.
Come enjoy a wonderful summer evening with Sophie’s Companions For Veterans Foundation.

Annual Mad River Poker Tournament

Join Todd Combs and the rest of the players for an exciting evening of poker, all benefitting Sophie’s Companions for Veterans Foundation!

Chrome Divas Specialty Turkey Dinner

Join us for a specialty turkey dinner with all the sides to benefit Sophie’s Companions for Veterans Foundation!  This event is put on by the Chrome Divas, a wonderful group of women that ride together and raise money for various nonprofits dealing with veterans in our community. SCFV Is thrilled to be the beneficiary of the Chrome Divas hard work and charitable contribution. This event is open to the public.

 


TBD: Annual Adam Smith Memorial Sand Volleyball Tournament

The entire day is filled with such excitement, and some of the best teams around competing for the top prizes and placement. More details to come soon.

Thank you to the American Legion of Kettering for hosting such an amazing breakfast along with the sons of American Legion for their generous donation. You made us feel right at home with your smiles and generosity!

A BIG thank you to everyone at Pleasant Hill, VFW #6557 auxiliary for the very helpful donation given by their group. This is a great help with training our rescues!

A great big thank you to WTUE radio and their team along with Christopher Gieson, Aaron Kerrigan and Kerrigan Roofing that put together the awesome well-known Turkey Bowl. What a Great success it was with so many attending this event, Bowling, and raising great money for Sophie’s foundation. Thank you all so much!

A great big THANK YOU to Debbie Fowler and her team at Wright State University Physicians Group for all of their hard work and great donations to Sophie’s.

2022 Disc Golf Fundraising Event

Sophie’s Companions For Veterans very first disc golf event was so much fun!

The raffle baskets were outstanding thanks to Darlene Skinner Veteran liaison/Canada from WPAFB. A huge thank you to Patrick Gray for pulling this event together and Steve Runnels for bringing it to life and of course all the volunteers and players that supported this wonderful event. The amount raised of $6400 is outstanding and will go directly to training our rescues for Disabled Veterans who need service dogs.

2022 Sand Volleyball Tournament

Our 5th Annual Adam Smith “MOUSE” Sand volleyball event was a smash. This year we had 13 teams with a lot of fast moving excitement, loads of remarkable raffles and great volunteers. Sophie’s foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to the Lavelle/Smith families, their friends and volunteers for putting such an awesome event together to benefit Sophie’s rescue dogs in training.

September 2021 

The Smith and *LaVelle families* along with friends, Modern Woodmen hosted an amazing 4 annual Adam Smith Mouse Volleyball Tournament. Through all of the hard work and great participation with all the volleyball players these two amazing families have taken such a tragedy losing their Adam Smith and creating an annual Tournament That to date has made over $23,000 to help Sophie’s foundation pay for Rescues in Training. 

You are all amazing and so appreciated in helping with our mission!We are very honored that these two families have chosen “Sophie’s Companions For Veterans” to honor the legacy of their beloved Adam!

The Mad River Poker tournament on 9/11

Hosted by owners Melissa and Kyle Stackhouse and Todd Combs who helped create this exciting charity event.
“Sophie’s Companions For Veterans” foundation thanks you all along with all of the participants that graciously donated the proceeds from the evening.

Our Garden Tour of 2021 on July 10th was another great success despite the summer sprinkles. Our volunteers worked hard with their smiles to greet everyone.

SKY the rescue won our cutest contest next to the snowman at Pet People event in November.

All of the dogs were so adorable and had so much fun being involved.

The “Mouse” volleyball tournament at the Setters volleyball club in Dayton Honoring Adam Smith who took his life due to PTSD was an amazing fundraiser. Hard work by the Smith/Lavelle families and sponsored by Modern Woodman. A Huge “Thank you” to the all of the teams involved, volunteers, Setters, the Smith/Lavelle families for including Sophie’s foundation and modern Woodman.

Our SUMMER BEACH PARTY at the Greene was so much fun. Watching children kick beach balls in the sprinklers, dogs running around with lei’s on their necks, listening to fabulous music by sponge worthy, rescues and so much more. Thank you to all that came out to enjoy the fun and we look forward to next year!

The Castle Hills golf tournament on July 13 in Vandalia was a super hit sponsored by Elements 1V Interiors in Dayton. It was a gorgeous day filled with great golfing, food, raffles and camaraderie. A great big “THANK YOU” to Mark Williams, Carol Hampton and all of your wonderful employees for an amazing successful golf tournament held for Sophie’s Foundation along with the Diabetes Association. We greatly appreciate your hard work and generous donation!

A big thank you to the JEEPIN organization for holding events, June 26 was our last one, to raise money for sophie’s foundation. It is so great to see everyone that comes out and brings their jeep with such pride. Thanks to you all and look forward to 2020 being with the JEEPIN Community again.

Our big events with Austin Landing for two years in a row has been an unbelievable turn out. At one event alone we had 5000 people attend. So appreciative and honored to be chosen as one of their charities for a first Friday event.

Our two Galas at Yankee trace have been not only memorable, beautiful and enjoyable at such a lovely facility but we raised enough money to supply one animal sanctuary housing  80 rescues with $10,000 of fencing and kennels along with several service dogs. This was a super successful evening, a lot of work and long hours but so worth it. Thank you to all the volunteers and people involved.

Our dinner event at the Salar restaurant in the Oregon District was such a lovely evening and the food just outstanding. Thank you so much for everyone that came out to support Sophie’s foundation.

Painting on canvas, our followers have loved this for a fun evening with friends and family, food and drinks. Thank you Raise Your Brush for sponsoring such a wonderful night and to everyone that attended.

What fun summer of Sundays we had at lunchtime with the Pour Haus Bar and grill in centerville sponsoring our event.
A big thank you to Pour Haus and everybody that enjoyed lunch with their dogs.

Our 5K run has been so rewarding. Not only fun but we raise the money needed to purchase a bulletproof fest for a narcotic dog in our community.
Thank you to all of our helpers, runners and the dogs that helped keep this very special narcotic dog safe!
